February is African American History Month

The Library of Congress, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Smithsonian Institution, and other agencies have partnered to bring together a wealth of digital exhibits you can explore online to celebrate and learn more about African American heritage.  This year's theme is Black Women in American Culture and History.  The website features exhibits on many different aspects of African American history, such as art, civil rights, politics, music, and even baseball.  Check it out here!

You can also listen to this fascinating NPR story celebrating the legacy of poet Langston Hughes (whose 100th birthday was yesterday!).
