The Buena Park Library District, located at 7150 La Palma Ave., between Knott and Western Avenues, has a number of events for children, teens and adults during the week of June 25-30, 2007.
On Monday, June 25th, the evening’s entertainment is “The Buster Balloon Show” which is a frenzied and frantic blend of balloon twisting madness and vaudeville style comedy. The show begins at 7:00 p.m., so come by early for a choice spot!
Beginning Tuesday, June 26th at 2:00 p.m., children in 3rd grade and up can discover the world during the weekly Tuesday afternoon Geography Club.
Wednesdays, starting June 27th and Thursdays, starting June 28th, both at 2:00 p.m., grade school age children can also enjoy the weekly Wednesday Chess Club and the Thursday Origami Club. Skilled and unskilled are most welcome!
Two weekly family movies are being offered—Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 11:00 a.m.
The Library offers five storytimes each week—Tuesday mornings at 11:00 a.m. for preschoolers, Wednesday mornings at 11:00 a.m. for toddlers, as well as family storytimes on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m.
For teens, ages 13-18, there will be a UNO® tournament on Tuesday, June 26th from 6:30-7:45 p.m. and a Clue® Game Tournament on Friday June 29th from 2:00-3:30 p.m.
For adults the Library has two book discussion groups that will meet Thursday, June 28th. The afternoon group meets from 2:00-3:30 p.m. and will be discussing Manhunt by James Swanson. The evening group’s discussion of Judge and Jury by James Patterson will be from 6:00-7:45 p.m. New members are always welcome to attend.
