The “American Dream” is alive and well at the Buena Park Library District as we celebrate National Library Week starting Sunday, April 2nd through Saturday, April 8th, 2006 at 7150 La Palma Ave., between Western and Knott on La Palma. Where else can you get something for nothing? With a free Library card for California residents, a card holder can check out books for three weeks on nearly any subject imaginable, listen to music and audio books, borrow a current movie for one week and use the Library’s online databases from home when you access our web page at www.buenapark.lib.ca.us. Upstairs in our hugely stocked and attractively priced Guild Bookstore, a cup of coffee is just 75 cents! Do you need a passport? The Buena Park Library is now an official US Passport Acceptance Agency! Call 714-826-4100 x125 for details about these and the many storytimes for children and special events for teens that are going on here. Look for a new Summer Reading Club for Adults, too.
In the words of Buena Park Councilmember Steve Berry at the City Council meeting held March 28, 2006, “[t]he City Council of the City of Buena Park does hereby proclaim April 2-8, 2006 as National Library Week in Buena Park and encourages all residents to take advantage of all their library has to offer and come discover all the ways they can change their world at [our] Library.”
