Children, ages 2-12, are invited to join the Summer Reading Club called “One World, Many Stories” for a summer filled with reading, prizes, entertainment, and fun. It will begin on June 18, 2011 with a Kick-Off Celebration from 2:00-4:00 pm that will include a petting barnyard, face painting, games, and more. On Thursday evenings all summer long, the Library will host special entertainment programs for families including magicians, jugglers, storytellers, and more.
Teens, grades 7-12, are invited to join the Summer Reading Club called “You Are Here” for a summer filled with reading, prizes, game tournaments and more. Sign-ups will begin on June 17, 2011 with a Kick-Off Celebration from 2:30-4:00 pm that will include Wii, board games, ice cream sundaes, and prizes. Teens will have a chance to participate in a variety of video and board game tournaments during the summer, as well as a special after-hours Amazing Race.
Adults, 18 and over, have their own Summer Reading Program called “Novel Destinations” where they have a chance to win one of many great end-of-summer themed gift assortments. The Adult Summer Reading Program begins on June 18, 2011.The Summer Reading Programs are generously sponsored by the Volunteer Guild of the Buena Park Library. All reading programs continue through August 13, 2011.
