Meet Edgar Allan Poe at the Buena Park Library District

Duffy Hudson, an acclaimed actor, director, and filmmaker will perform his one-man play, In the Shadow of the Raven: The Life and Works of Edgar Allan Poe in the Downstairs Community Room at the Buena Park Library on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 6:30 pm. You will think that you have met Mr. Poe himself after spending the evening in the presence of Broadway and film veteran Duffy Hudson, who brings his talent and fascination for Edgar Allan Poe to life in his unique one-man play.

The play, In the Shadow of the Raven, begins as Edgar Allan Poe rises from the scene of his mysterious death and continues as he pieces together the events of his life. Using a combination of biographical information and the dramatic interpretation of Poe’s literature, Annabel Lee, The Raven, and The Tell-Tale Heart, Hudson provides a unique, in-depth theatrical experience of the life and works of one of America’s best-known and enigmatic personalities.

Mr. Hudson is a co-owner of a film company, has many film acting credits, and has co-founded several theatre companies. He has also performed on Broadway and directed more than 300 theatrical pieces, working with Brooke Shields, Jessica Lange, Don Johnson, Tatum O’Neal, and Marlo Thomas. Duffy is also the author of the children’s book, The Boy Who Came From Heaven and another one-man show, The Relativity of Albert Einstein.

The program is made possible by funding from the Volunteer Guild of the Buena Park Library. Admission is free and no tickets or reservations are necessary.

What an amazing show! I wouldn't have to think twice before going to see this performance again, or any others done by this wonderful actor. My highest praises to the Poe Show!
