Phil Brigandi presents A Discussion of the History of Scouting in Orange County at the Buena Park Library
Noted local historian and former Orange County archivist, Phil Brigandi, will discuss the history of scouting in Orange County on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Buena Park Library. As an historian, his emphasis has always been on telling the story. He says that: "Orange County has always been fertile ground for Scouting. Our first troop was founded in Anaheim in 1910, the same year the Boy Scouts of America was founded." Brigandi is a third generation scout and over the years he has also been an historical society volunteer, a museum curator, an archivist, and an author, just to name a few. He will also be available after the talk to sell and sign his excellent new book, On My Honor, a Century of Scouting in Orange County.
This program is being presented by the Buena Park Historical Society and the Buena Park Library District. Light refreshments will be served. Scouts (past and present), their families, and the general public are welcome.
The Library is located at 7150 La Palma Avenue (between Western & Knott) in Buena Park.
